About Me

I am an experienced and multi-disciplinary medical epidemiologist, health services researcher, program evaluator, and academician. I have been working as a full time, limited term teaching faculty at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Simon Fraser University (SFU), since January 2015. Prior to this, I was the Department Head and Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Public Health in Myanmar. I was a freelence global health consultant for World Health Organization, United Nations Population Fund, United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime, numerous international and national NGOs, Total Exploration and Production – Myanmar, Petronas – HK, Virens and Associates and MMRD consulting firms.

My extensive academic background includes MBBS from the Institute of Medicine (1), Yangon; Doctor of Public Health (Epidemiology), Master of Public Health (Health Services Research), and Master in Health Information Systems from Loma Linda University, California; Post-doctoral study on HIV Epidemiology from UCLA, California; and Master of Business Administration and Master of Development Studies from Yangon Institute of Economics.
